Patterson Block,

My husband and I embarked to change our railroad tie retaining wall to a terraced block wall. We had hired a contractor; who turned out to be unscrupulous. After much shopping around we settled on Patterson Block. We told Patterson’s of our dilemma.

We knew nothing of building a block wall and the blocks were also too heavy for us to lift. We had a younger friend who agreed to help us finish this wall. He went to Patterson’s and they gave him instructions, advice and even a trip to our home to make sure we were going in the right direction with this endeavor.

Now, had we bought this block from a “ big business”, like Home Depot or Lowe’s, we would have done just that…bought block. There would have been no helping or caring. They are just in the business of selling, that’s what they do. We are so grateful for having bought from a family business, you literally saved us. This was no small wall in May of 2006 and finished in August of 2007 and I am writing to thank Patterson’s for having the wonderful family business you have and conducting it in the way you do. We feel like we are part of Patterson family now also.

We recently added a garage to our home and would like to install small block like our wall around it. Our wall is beautiful and we are now in August of 2008 very happy with the finished wall thanks to our good friend Joe Stutzman and Patterson Block. We will be repeat customers. We recommend Patterson’s to anybody doing outside work to their home.
